Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Nursing Home Subventions.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

1145 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will examine the file relating to a claim for subvention in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Killkenny to determine the reason the outstanding payment is not being made to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, in view of the fact that the case was affected by the imple mentation of the 1993 nursing homes subvention regulations; if the agreed position as outlined in the letter from the South-Eastern Health Board of 31 January 2002 will be honoured; if the position taken by the South-Eastern Health Board since this letter was issued is a further attempt by the board not to pay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16775/02]

As the Deputy is aware, responsibility for the provision of health services in the Kilkenny area rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this matter and forward a reply direct to the Deputy.
