Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John Perry

Ceist:

1159 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to enhance facilities in the children's ward of Sligo General Hospital to provide amenities for parents or mothers to stop over to be with a sick child; if he will provide funding for a mini kitchen and sitting room as this would relieve the cramped cubicles which is most stressful for par ents and medical staff who provide excellent care for their patients and families; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16847/02]

Responsibility for the provision of health services in Sligo General Hospital rests with the North-Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
