Ceist:

1269 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Transport the Government's policy in relation to Córas Iompair Éireann and Iarnród Eireann's business plan for the rail freight sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16686/02]

Minister for Transport (Mr. Brennan):

Future policy in relation to the rail freight sector is being considered as part of the strategic rail study which is being undertaken by consultants on my behalf. I expect to receive a report in that regard before the year end.
