Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Visa Application.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

1321 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a person (details supplied) hoping to study English in County Mayo, was refused a visa. [15954/02]

The visa application in question was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant had displayed sufficient evidence of her obligation to return home following her proposed college course. It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of the visa. This may be done by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department and enclosing any additional supporting documentation.
