Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

1327 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his plans to ensure that Carrig Na Bhfear Garda station is kept open on a seven day per week basis. [15406/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the allocation of resources to individual areas, that the current strength of Carrig Na Bhfear Garda station is one garda. The station is open to the public on each day the garda is rostered to work an early tour. When the station is not open to the public, a public access call box (PACB) and call diversion systems are in place and linked to district headquarters at Cobh Garda station which is operational on a 24 hour basis.

There are currently no plans to alter the opening hours of Carrig na Bhfear Garda station.
