I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 18 March 1999. Dealing Number 99SM001693V refers.
I am further informed that this application will be completed within the next few weeks.

Ceist:1343 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry to expedite a section 49 application for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [15758/02]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 8 September 2000. Dealing number D2000SMOO7116T refers.
I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. I am further informed that queries issued to the lodging solicitor on 29 August 2002 and that the application cannot proceed until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. However, I assure the Deputy that the application will receive further consideration as soon as a satisfactory reply to these queries is received.

Ceist:1344 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry to expedite a requisition for file plan of a folio for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, with the commonage areas identified, as specifically requested for REP scheme purposes. I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for a file plan which was lodged on 24 April 2002. Application number C2002SM002819D refers. I am further informed that this application was completed and that the file plan was issued on 27 August 2002.
I am also informed that an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, was lodged by the applicant on 10 May 1999 in relation to the folio number quoted by the Deputy. Dealing number D1999SM003306A refers.
I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. I am further informed that on foot of notices of the application served on interested parties on 16 October 2001 an objection was received on 22 October 2001. I am also informed that the Land Registry is in correspondence with the objector's solicitors, the latest correspondence being received from said solicitor on 30 September 2002.
I assure the Deputy that the application is receiving attention in the Land Registry and once all outstanding queries have been satisfactorily dealt with the matter will be brought to a conclusion as quickly as possible.
