1437 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if phase two of the restoration works to Maynooth Castle, Maynooth, County Kildare, will be sanctioned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17442/02]
My Department has recently completed a major programme of conservation and adaptation works to the ground floor and the provision of access to the first floor at Maynooth Castle. Work is ongoing on the installation of an interpretative exhibition and this is expected to be completed by the end of 2002. No further major works are envisaged at the castle for the medium term.
