1459 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the practical proposals he has to assist families on the housing waiting list and particularly projects for the Dublin North Central constituency area. [15550/02]
Local authorities have at their disposal a range of measures in order to assist families in need of housing. These include the local authority and voluntary housing programmes and a range of other measures including shared ownership and affordable housing and improvement works in lieu of local authority housing. The development of individual housing schemes in a particular area is a matter for the local authority concerned, in this case Dublin City Council.
