Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

362 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made regarding the school building project for St. Anne's national school, Greenhill, County Dublin; the steps taken to date and the approvals granted to date for the project; when tender will be invited; when work is likely to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19973/02]

I understand that the Deputy is referring to St. Anne's national school, Shankill, County Dublin. My Department has an extensive primary school building programme for 2002 under way at present, details of which are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.

Later this year when a financial allocation has been made for the primary school building programme in the 2003 Estimates, I will be framing a further comprehensive programme of works that will proceed to construction and the school concerned will be one of those considered for inclusion in that programme. Architectural planning for the building project at St. Anne's national school, Shankill, is at an advanced stage.
