Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

557 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the length of time it is taking to provide a speech and language therapy service for children needing such a service in Waterford City and County; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20425/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 541 and 557 together.

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the Health Boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's questions have been referred to the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matters and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
