Bruton asked the Minister for Transport the key performance indicators of the agencies which his Department funds; the performance in respect of these for the past five years; and if these agencies publish a commentary on these performance indicators linking them to objectives and activities. Each of the agencies for which the Department is responsible is given a mandate to carry out a range of functions and duties. The mandate of these agencies is generally set out in the legislation by which they are established and-or in their memorandum and articles of association, as appropriate. The detailed implementation of that mandate is an operational matter for the agencies concerned.
Each agency publishes an annual report which gives an account of their activities for the preceding year. Copies of their annual reports for the previous five years are available in the Library.
