Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Company Law.

Liz McManus

Ceist:

92 Ms McManus asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she has received legal advice as to the further action which should be taken arising from the acceptance in a recent court case by legal representatives for a person (details supplied) that he accepted that this person controlled a company (details supplied) in 1987; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20358/02]

I have received the advice of the Attorney General in relation to the matters raised. The advice does not provide any scope for further action against the person concerned arising from the acceptance referred to. It confirms that this acceptance or concession was expressly given for the purpose of the particular court case in question and, consequently, it cannot be used against the person concerned in any other proceedings.
