Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Projects.

Martin Ferris

Ceist:

701 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on whether, in projects funded by his Department and the EU, it is appropriate to accredit those senior staff of the local authority who worked on the projects by including their names on a commemorative plaque; if so, the members of staff who should be so accredited; the person who decide on the allocation of these accreditations; and if his Department has a role to ensure that senior staff who were directly involved are recognised in this way. [20491/02]

Current guidelines on the erection of commemorative plaques in such cases require local authorities to acknowledge, where relevant, the national development plan and any contribution from the European Community. The inclusion of additional information in any individual case would be a matter for the local authority concerned.
