191 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if he will have arrangements made to expedite the registration of freeholds of lands and property for a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20965/02]
The issue raised by the Deputy is a matter between Waterways Ireland and the individual involved. Waterways Ireland is one of the six North-South Implementation Bodies established under the British-Irish Agreement Act, 1999, and is jointly sponsored by this Department and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure in the North. Day-to-day matters are the responsibility of the body. However, I have contacted Waterways Ireland and it advises me it is endeavouring to bring the matter to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.
