192 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the companies which provide service for Clare Island and Inishturk in relation to the island transport ferry service in County Mayo; the number of applications which were received in both cases; when the tenders were received; the closing dates for applications; when the successful applicants were notified; if they were notified by post, telephone or otherwise of the decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In the case of Inisturk the open tendering procedure was terminated in the absence of appropriate tenders and subsequently my Department entered into a negotiated procedure in relation to provision of the service, as provided for in Article 11.3 (c) of Council Directive 92/50/EEC relating to the co-ordination of procedures for the award of public service contracts.
