Vol. 557 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ambulance Service.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

328 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the submission by the South-Eastern Health Board to his Department regarding the provision of an ambulance service at St. Bridget's Hospital, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22160/02]

The South-Eastern Health Board is responsible for the provision of ambulance services in its functional area which includes County Tipperary. My Department is aware that the board has developed proposals for the provision of an ambulance service for the Carrick-on-Suir area, based at St. Bridget's Hospital. It is a matter for the board to prioritise this proposed development in the context of available funding for the development of its ambulance service generally.
