376 Mr. McHugh asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make funds available to the Western Health Board in order that it can pay outstanding moneys to the Irish Wheelchair Association to cover the increase in wages as recommended by the home help agreement arrived at in April 2000. Appropriate funding has been provided by my Department to the health boards for the implementation of the April 2000 home help agreement. Responsibility for the verification of costings and the funding of claims received from grant aided agencies rests with the relevant health board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
