448 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the grant of ?317,500 allocated from his Department for the R294 Mahanagh-Mullaghroe Road, County Sligo alignment scheme must be expended by the end of November 2002 [22224/02]
While Sligo County Council received an allocation of €317,500 in 2002 for the R294 – Mullaghroe scheme, under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme, only €44,571 has been drawn down to date due, it is understood, to delays with land acquisition. The council's application for funding in 2003 under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme includes an application for €330,000 for the R294 – Mullaghroe scheme.
