108 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the purpose and terms of reference of the review of the Government's commitment to spend ?65 million on the first phase of the regional broadband strategy to build fibre optic networks in 20 towns and cities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand that this review by SJS advisers was commissioned by Forfás and the Department of the Taoiseach with a view to, broadly speaking, provide a review of the regional broadband metro network strategy announced in March 2002. The report will be presented to the Cabinet subcommittee on housing infrastructure and PPP's on Wednesday 20 November 2002.
