Ceist:

131 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he has received an application from RTE for an increase in the licence fee; the amount sought; if he has received a submission from RTE on the losses to RTE arising from the corrupt action of the former Minister described in the Second Interim Report of the Tribunal of Inquiry into Certain Planning Matters and Payments; if a decision has been made to compensate for the losses arising from the Minister's action; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my answer to Question No. 92 of 9 October 2002. I expect to receive a formal application from RTE shortly for an increase in the television licence fee. As I have already informed the House it is open to RTE to address any matters of concern to it in the context of that application.
