Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Care Services.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

276 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the anomaly which exists between special schools and mainstream schools where children with autistic spectrum are attending; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that in the special schools the teachers are provided with the necessary immunisation and health procedures, and in mainstream, where children with autistic spectrum are participating, they are not provided with such immunisation or health procedures; if his Department will provide the funding to rectify this anomaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23431/02]

Responsibility for the provision of immunisation and other health care services rests with the relevant health board. School authorities who have concerns in this area or wish to avail of these services should contact their local health authority.
