Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Rail Network.

David Stanton

Ceist:

149 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Transport if the feasibility study on railway infrastructure in Cork has been completed; his views and plans on the proposed re-opening of the rail link to Midleton; the estimated cost for same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23577/02]

I am informed by Iarnród Éireann that the study the company commissioned on the feasibility of proposals for the development of commuter rail services from Blarney to Cobh and Midleton via Cork, is at the draft final stage. In advance of the study being completed, I am not in a position to comment on the proposals or their cost.
