I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Murphy and Allen – the financial crisis facing local authorities; (2) Deputy O'Dowd – that the Department of Arts, Tourism and Sport prioritise the funding of the Drogheda swimming pool under the provision and renovation of swimming pools grant; (3) Deputy Gilmore – the future of the Shanganagh Castle centre for young offenders in Shankill, County Dublin; (4) Deputy Wall – to ask the Minister for Health the financial provisions he will put in place to provide for 17 year old Paul Dowling, Rowanville, Kildare town, who has mild behavioural problems and who has been cared for by a private nursing company at the behest of the South-Western Area Health Board in three different hotels for the past four weeks; (5) Deputy Costello – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to state when he proposes to introduce legislation in the Dáil and when he proposes to provide Exchequer funds for the development of lands at St. Brendan's, Grangegorman, Dublin 7, and if he will state the types of development envisaged on the site; (6) Deputy Enright – the need to immediately prioritise schools most in need of refurbishment and to seek emergency funding; (7) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the steps being taken to address the inappropriate intervention of An Taisce in many planning cases; (8) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Finance to discuss the delay by the Office of Public Works in implementing a flood relief programme for the residents of Clonmel and in particular the Old Bridge area, which has been subjected to horrific flooding in recent years.
