Vol. 558 No. 5

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

301 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to overcome the anomaly where children in autistic classes, inclusive of children from different health boards, are being discriminated against as the special speech therapists will only deal with children from areas within their health board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25060/02]

My Department is aware that situations, as described by the Deputy, occur from time to time. They have been resolved at local level between the relevant health boards.

If the Deputy is aware of any current situation where this matter is presenting problems the details should be referred to the relevant health boards by the concerned parties.
