159 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) is being refused special beef premium 2002 on an animal which died within the two month retention period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25480/02]
The person named submitted two 2002 special beef premium applications as follows: four animals on 29 October and one animal on 26 November 2002.
Advance payment will issue in respect of these applications in the month following the end of the two month retention period subject to compliance with the terms and conditions including stocking density criteria. The person named informed the special beef premium unit that one animal listed on the first application died within the two month retention period. Under EU regulations this animal is not due payment and has been deleted from the application without penalty. The animal will count for premium stocking density.
The person named has two animals eligible under the 2002 slaughter premium scheme. 80% advance payment in respect of these two animals issued on 16 October 2002.
160 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo did not receive suckler cow premium, 2002, area based payments, 2002, or extensification for 2001. [25482/02]
The person named included a land parcel on his 2002 area aid application that was also being claimed on another herdowners application.
The area aid unit contacted both herdowners to clarify the matter and the correct parcel boundaries have now been entered on the Department's electronic database. The 2002 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 26.63 hectares.
The person named will be paid his full entitlement under the 2002 area-based compensatory allowance scheme shortly. The person named applied on five animals under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme. His application has been processed and payment will issue to him shortly.
The person named participated in 2001 extensification opting for the simplified system. He was paid a sum of €330.00 representing payment at the higher rate on his five suckler cows.
