Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - Passports for Investment Scheme.

Jim O'Keeffe

Ceist:

395 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if files or copies of files relating to the 44 citizenships granted by the former Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Ray Burke, under the passports for investment scheme, have been forwarded to the Flood tribunal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25823/02]

All of the files in question are currently with the Moriarty tribunal on foot of a production order made by that tribunal on 11 November 1998. My Department has not received a request from the Flood tribunal for any files related to the investment based naturalisation scheme. I can also confirm that my Department has already co-operated with the Flood tribunal in certain matters which were raised by that tribunal and I can assure the Deputy that both I and my Department will continue to co-operate with both tribunals in any way possible.
