Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Dan Boyle

Ceist:

445 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the moneys which have been expended in her Department by area and projects to date, under the RAPID and CLÁR programmes. [25860/02]

The RAPID and CLÁR programmes are cross-departmental initiatives under the aegis of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The programmes for which my Department is responsible which could provide assistance for projects in these areas are the family service and family resource centres programme and the employment support services.

In 2002 to date, six projects in RAPID areas have been funded by the Department. A total of €245,406 has been allocated or approved. No requests for funding under the CLAR programme have been received by my Department.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

446 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the funding her Department has made available in relation to the development of the RAPID programme at a location (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25891/02]

The RAPID programme is a cross-departmental initiative under the aegis of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. While there is no specific funding provided for RAPID projects in my Department, moneys are available through the family services project, employment support services special projects fund and the family resource centre programme, which can be applied in RAPID areas.

To date no requests for funding have been received in respect of the location in question. Upon receipt of a proposal, it will be considered in the context of the qualifying criteria and the resources allocated to my Department's programmes outlined above.
