Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

274 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he has prepared proposals for the reform of the tax concessions for disabled drivers; if he will consider the extension of concessions to umbrella organisations which are providing collective transport facilities for persons with mental health disabilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1197/03]

I have received the report of the interdepartmental review group on the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' (tax concessions) scheme. The report is currently under consideration by officials in my Department. Any recommendations contained in this report in relation to the medical criteria and other conditions of the scheme will receive full consideration. When this process is completed, I envisage that the report will be made available.
