253 Ms Harkin asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the number and cost of personnel involved in his Department in media, media marketing and public relations activities, including external public relations and media monitoring services in the periods 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2001, 1 January 2002 to 31 December 2002, and 1 January 2003 to date. [4001/03]
On the establishment of my Department in June 2002, it continued to engage the services of public relations consultants Fleishman Hilliard Saunders until the expiry of their contract on 18 October 2002. My Department has not engaged PR consultants since that date.

254 Ms Harkin asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the expenditure by his Department on photographic services in the periods 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2001, 1 January 2002 to 31 December 2002, and 1 January 2003 to date. [4016/03]
Expenditure on photographic services by my Department since its establishment last June amounted to €41,874.06 in 2002, mainly in connection with the specialised needs of the national cultural institutions. The cost to date in 2003 is €11,218.

Expenditure on media advertising by my Department since its establishment last June amounted to €205,261.40 in 2002, mainly in connection with the specialised needs of the national cultural institutions. The cost to date in 2003 is €34,466.23.
