Vol. 561 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Billy Timmins

Ceist:

185 Mr. Timmins asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if there are any employees in her Department or employed by agencies of her Department that are receiving a salary but are not working due to industrial disputes, non-agreement on new work practices or awaiting new procedures or practices to be put in place; if so, the total wages of such employees since they fell into this category; the wages for the year 2002; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4099/03]

There are no employees in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, apart from those outlined as follows, or in any of its agencies, in receipt of a salary and not working due to industrial disputes, non-agreement on new work practices or awaiting new procedures or practices to be put in place.

Four employees of the Department, in a technical grade, are in the process of being redeployed, in consultation with their union and in accordance with agreed procedures, to new duties outside of their current grade. It is expected that the process of redeployment will be completed in the near future. Their combined salaries for 2002 amounted to €221,232.44.
