Ceist:

327 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the position regarding the application of 7 March 2002 by the Dublin Port Company; if meetings have taken place between officials from his Department and Dublin Port in relation to the adequacy of the environmental impact statement; the requirement for planning permission and other issues; the outcome of those meetings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. D. Ahern):

My Department will meet Dublin Port Company at an early date to discuss matters relevant to the company's application for approval for reclamation of foreshore, including the environmental impact statement submitted by the company in connection with the application. As I indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question No. 546 of 29 January 2003, a decision on the further action to be taken in respect of the application will be made in the light of those discussions.
