Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

John Gormley

Ceist:

380 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason no speech therapist has been employed in Ballinteer community school, despite a promise from him in a letter dated 7 May 2002; his views on whether this is an entirely unsatisfactory situation; if a speech therapist will be employed as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4615/03]

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
