118 Mr. O'Shea asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she expects to receive the results of the study of the insurance industry being undertaken jointly by her Department and the Competition Authority; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4443/03]
It is intended that the bulk of the work on the insurance study will be carried out in 2003, with a current target date of early 2004 for production of the final report. The study will involve data collection from the industry and will also allow interested parties the opportunity of making submissions on preliminary findings before a final report is issued. The chairperson of the Competition Authority will update the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise and Small Business regarding the study on 5 March 2003.
