Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Legislative Programme.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin

Ceist:

278 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources his legislative priorities for 2003 and for the remainder of the 29th Dáil. [6320/03]

I refer the Deputy to the published Government legislative programme for the spring session 2003, which includes 22 Bills right across my Department's remit which are in preparation or currently before the Oireachtas.

The provisions of the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Civil Liability and Compensation) (Amendment) Bill had been incorporated into the Sea Pollution (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, but I now propose to proceed with this Bill separately. In addition to the items listed in the Government legislative programme, I intend to bring forward a Petroleum and other Minerals Development (Amendment) Bill during the course of the current Dáil. The purpose of this Bill is to update and consolidate the 1960 Act and make amendments to the Continental Shelf Act 1968.

Question No. 279 answered with Question No. 124.
