292 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons for the long delay in dealing with an application for family reunification by persons (details supplied); if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the application was submitted to his Department in March 2002; if a decision will be made in the next few weeks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The application for family reunification was received in my Department in June 2002. The Department has subsequently been in correspondence with the persons in question to clarify details in respect of the applicant. The application is currently under consideration and a decision will issue shortly.
