Vol. 565 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Trevor Sargent

Ceist:

209 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science if he accepts the case being made by St. George's national school management, Balbriggan, County Dublin, that a new four teacher school is needed to cope with the enormous population growth in the town. [10455/03]

My Department has considered the case put forward by St. George's national school for the need to expand provision at the school. While we acknowledge that additional accommodation will be required to meet the growing needs of the area, the extent of accommodation required has not been finally determined.

The provision of the additional accommodation which will be required is contingent on the level of funding available under the capital budgetary allocations for 2004 and subsequent years.
