218 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in having back-pay from the allowance for a second teacher in a two teacher school paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly despite the fact that this person undertook the duties for the period in which the back-pay is granted. [10475/03]

An application for payment of the allowance referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department from the relevant school authorities on 26 February 2003. The payment issued to the teacher in question on 13 March 2003.
