Vol. 565 No. 3

Written Answers. - Driving Tests.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

344 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport the number of people who are on their third provisional licence and who are awaiting a test date before it can be renewed; and if arrangements will be made for the early issue of a test date to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5. [10696/03]

The Department of the Environment and Local Government hold and administer the national driver file. It has advised me that the number of current holders of third provisional licences is 54,914. My Department does not have any record of the number of such persons who have applied for a driving test. An appointment for a driving test has been arranged for the person concerned.
