Vol. 565 No. 3

Written Answers. - Industrial Development.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

110 Mr. Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if her attention has been drawn to the fact that an advance factory (details supplied) has been unoccupied for two years; if her attention has further been drawn to any interest in the factory by potential occupants; if any of the State agencies has brought potential companies to the factory in the past 12 months; the priority status given to the advance factory by the agencies; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10751/03]

The management of the IDA's industrial property portfolio is a day to day matter for the agency and not one in which I have a direct function.

The agency is actively promoting the factory to potential overseas investors through its network of overseas offices. According to the IDA there have been two site visits to the factory over the past six months and a decision is expected by mid 2003. Ultimately, the final decision rests with the overseas investors in question.
