Vol. 565 No. 3

Written Answers. - Company Law.

Paul Nicholas Gogarty

Ceist:

113 Mr. Gogarty asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason for the non-prosecution of individuals in the music business in companies (details supplied), despite an abundance of evidence in her Department's possession. [10806/03]

The matter referred to by the Deputy falls within the responsibility of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

Under the Company Law Enforcement Act 2001, the director is independent in the discharge of his duties. I have no statutory power to require the director to take any particular action in regard to a specific case. However, I have drawn the Deputy's question to the attention of the director and asked him to see whether the matter can be expedited.
