Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Paul Nicholas Gogarty

Ceist:

246 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Education and Science his plans to enable St. Andrew's national school in Lucan to adequately cater for its catchment area in view of his Department's refusal to provide aid for severely needed mainstream temporary accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12626/03]

Ceist:

247 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Education and Science when it is likely that his Department will provide funding for temporary accommodation at St. Andrew's national school in Lucan in view of the extremely overcrowded conditions that currently exist at the school. [12627/03]

Ceist:

248 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Education and Science when it is likely that his Department will provide funding for refurbishment works at St. Andrew's national school in Lucan in view of the bad conditions that currently exist at the school and the fact that the devolved grant is not sufficient to cover all of the school's urgent needs in 2003. [12628/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 246 to 248, inclusive, together.

I can confirm that St. Andrew's national school, Lucan has applied to my Department for temporary accommodation. The 2003 building programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include a project at the school concerned in the programme that was published in January.
