314 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress regarding an application for funds from the SEHB to provide a ward for the care of the elderly at St. Canice's Hospital, Kilkenny; if the funding will be granted without delay in view of the urgency of the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of health services in the Kilkenny area is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board in the first instance. This capital project is at present being considered by my Department in the context of a review of all capital developments for the South-Eastern Health Board under the national development plan. My Department will continue to liaise closely with that board in relation to progressing this particular proposal.
