Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Computer System.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

416 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the extent to which PULSE is currently operational; the cost to date in respect of installation and operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12999/03]

The PULSE computer system has been operational for three years and is available at 181 locations, including divisional and district headquarters, and all major city stations throughout the country. Under this level of coverage, 85% of all incidents are directly captured and over 75% of Garda personnel have direct access to the PULSE system in their own station. The total cost of the PULSE infrastructure and consultancy to date is € 61.33 million. No further capital expenditure is expected on this project.
