Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Parks.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

445 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when it is envisaged that work on the conservation and restoration of Dinis Cottage in Killarney National Park will take place; the extent of the works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12935/03]

A programme of restoration works is being prepared for Dinis Cottage, which will enable it to be re-opened to the public as a tearoom. Plans which will have regard to the protected status of the building are being finalised, and a planning application will then be lodged.

Assuming that planning permission is obtained, tenders will be sought for the works and I am hopeful that the project can commence in the latter half of this year.
