Last week I reported to the House on my recent meetings and on developments in the peace process.
Both Governments remain fully committed to the Good Friday Agreement and it is our template for future progress in Northern Ireland. In recent weeks and months real progress has been made. This progress is reflected in the joint declaration of the two Governments and associated documents published recently.
I appreciate the assistance of President Bush and his administration, particularly Ambassador Richard Haass who has worked closely with us in recent months and whom I will meet again next week.
