209 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will meet an IFA delegation from Boyle, County Roscommon, which wants to discuss the future supports for the industry in north Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12732/03]

A formal mechanism exists for consultation with the special partner farming organisations. This is supplemented by regular contact and communication with these organisations at national level. All relevant issues raised by farming organisations are addressed regularly.

Numerous requests for meetings from local branches of farm organisations are received. Unfortunately it is not always possible to accommodate these requests. The dissemination of the outcome of national consultations to their branches is a matter for the farming organisations.
