Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Reliefs.

Seamus Kirk

Ceist:

217 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider including Down's syndrome sufferers in the medical criteria eligibility for the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' tax concession regulations 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12832/03]

An interdepartmental review group, chaired by an official from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, has examined the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' tax concessions scheme. I received its report and I am giving it consideration. Recommendations on the medical criteria or other conditions of the scheme will receive consideration.
