331 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received the latest draft of the task force report and if it has recommended that a non-consultant career break post or a long-standing non-permanent trade doctor should not form a part of the medical staffing in the reorganised hospital system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The report of the National Task Force on Medical Staffing is at an advanced stage of preparation, but has not yet been completed. When I receive it I will study its contents and bring proposals to Government in the normal way. In the meantime, I am not in a position to speculate as to its likely recommendations on particular issues, including the one to which the Deputy refers.
