Vol. 567 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Liz McManus

Ceist:

342 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the level of increment allocated from each health board to each teaching hospital over and above that allocation given to non-teaching hospitals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13747/03]

Under the Health (Amendment) (No. 3) Act 1996, otherwise known as the accountability legislation, the health boards/authority are required to deliver a level of services consistent with their approved determination. It is a matter for health boards/authority to agree budget levels and service levels for each organisation they fund, including acute and non-acute hospitals. As the information requested by the Deputy is part of the operational plan and is held at health board level, I have asked the health board chief executive officers to furnish the information directly to the Deputy.

Ceist:

343 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the subvention which is provided by the South Eastern Health Board for hospital consultants in the form of household rent and public utilities bill payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13748/03]

As this is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to reply to the Deputy directly.
