158 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Defence if his Department has a contract or contracts for the purchase of foodstuffs; if so, the value of these contracts; if the origin of any of the foodstuffs is from outside this country; if so, the value of these; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised that the Defence Forces, through the food procurement unit, Directorate of Ordnance, McKee Barracks, Dublin 7, has at present 13 food contracts. The foodstuffs covered under the contracts originate within this country. The total value of the contracts is €3.32 million approximately.
